Woven Wellness Offers Professional
Counseling & Therapy for Adults
If life’s a tapestry, what threads have you been weaving?
Hi there, glad you made it. Pull up a seat and let’s get cozy talking all things therapy and mental health support.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always had this fascination with tapestries. What goes into making them? How many strands did it take to make this piece? How many different colors are here? I’ve dabbled in some of this work and always found it interesting how the front of my work looks so put together; but when I flip around to the back, I can’t help but notice the hot mess of piling, knotting, and general dishevelry. How does this cacophony of strands not only exist, but somehow come together and form a resounding work of art?
In life, I’ve often found this phenomenon to be true of our stories as well. Does your life feel like the back of the tapestry? On the outside, you’re capable. But internally, you’re navigating a cacophony of strands: childhood memories, relational triggers, and a nervous system that feels stuck in "survival mode."
At Woven Wellness, I specialise in helping you examine those deeply woven threads through intentional and compassionate clinical mental health counseling. I'm here to help you understand and detangle the knots.
I believe we are all complex creatures with narratives that bob and weave through our past experiences. These narratives shape how we perceive our present and influence our future. So what’s this thread about here? Have we noticed the softer strands at work in the background? How do we untangle that confusing knot over there?
My passion is to help others see their tapestries for all that they are—challenging, sobering, unpleasant, courageous, unique, and altogether beautiful. After everything you’ve seen and experienced, I want to help you make sense of your story through a personalized and compassionate approach to counseling. Once you see yourself for who you are rather than who someone told you to be, then you can begin the honest work of becoming who you alone were intentionally and authentically designed to be.
It’s true: you can’t change the past, but you can use it as a roadmap for your future. And no, you can’t control every thread you’ve been given… but you do have a right to decide how these threads come together. Today is a good day to try your hand at a new weave.
Know Your Therapist
Hi, I’m Shelby Bristow. My passion for clinical mental health counseling is rooted in the belief that we exist for connection. I believe humble and compassionate love changes things. I provide a specialized, relational lens to therapy, ensuring you don't have to walk the road alone.

Therapy Focus for Adults
Choosing the right therapy for you means finding a space where expert clinical tools meet genuine human connection. Woven Wellness focuses on the most common yet complex challenges adults face today, offering a path toward lasting relief and internal alignment.
Anxiety &
Overwhelm
Let’s shoot straight here, with the days we’re currently living in, everyone faces anxiety and depression on some level. My practice moves beyond just "managing" symptoms to understand your body’s wisdom. I prioritise emotional insight and regulation through somatic awareness. Together, we will learn to tune in to the wisdom our bodies communicate and respond accordingly. By providing healthy skills such as mindfulness, compassion, and grounding, we will learn to navigate these times with more grace and confidence.
Codependency & Relational Stress
Have you noticed that no matter how hard you try to "think" your way out of anxiety, your body still feels like it's stuck? Maybe you’ve just honestly had a series of difficult and complex experiences throughout your life. Whether your trauma is acute or complex, I offer support to help you find safety in your body again. I implement trauma-informed and evidenced-based practices through EMDR and IFS. These approaches serve to help you move past survival, through trauma, and on to thrive.
Trauma
Recovery
Do you notice a particular pattern in your romantic relationships? Are you stuck in a cycle of reacting rather than responding? Maybe your family is driving you crazy and you have no idea what setting a boundary would even look like. One of my favorite things about my practice is the opportunity to sit down with individuals and help them create healthier, more authentic relationships with themselves as well as others. Through the lens of Attachment and Internal Family Systems, I help you untangle the "unseen" pain of codependency so you can choose differently and more authentically in alignment with who you are.
Therapeutic Modalities
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a gold-standard trauma-based therapeutic approach, focusing on healing through neural network connectivity and processing. If you’re an adult looking to process challenging memories and beliefs beyond the consciousness of traditional talk-therapy, this is the integrative approach you’re looking for.
Internal Family Systems
(IFS)
IFS is a counseling approach that applies Family Systems Theory to a person’s world of emotions (think of the movie Inside Out). If you’ve heard anything about “inner child work” or feel like different "parts" of you are at war, this approach may benefit you.
